1/1 "Our Very First Show" September 22, 1987

In the wake of his wife Pam's tragic death, Danny Tanner must now say good-bye to his mother, who has spent the past few months living at the house. With three daughters under the age of ten, Danny convinces his best friend Joey and rock-n'-rolling brother-in-law Jesse to move in temporarily. These two makeshift "junior dads" have their hands full helping with the kids and adjusting to a new lifestyle, but oldest daughter DJ proves to be the toughest shell in the situation. Forced to begin sharing a room with her 5-year-old sister, DJ causes more friction in the already hectic household by setting up house in the garage. 

 

2/2 "Our Very First Night" September 25, 1987

When the guys are all leaving at one time Danny explains that there has to be at least one adult in the house while the kids are there. Jesse is stuck being the adult that has to stay with the kids. While Danny is at work and Joey is doing his comedy slot Jesse decides to have his band practice at the house. The girls think Jesse is the easy one to trick so they order pizza and eat ice cream. They even dye their hair. Joey comes home from doing his comedy and joins in on the fun. Danny comes home from work and doesn't find the whole situation amusing. He begins to yell at Jesse. After his rant, Danny realizes that Jesse doesn't know a whole lot about raising kids and he needs to teach some parenting tricks. 

 

3/3 "The First Day of School" October 2, 1987

On the first day of school Stephanie is very nervous about not knowing anybody. Throughout the morning before class starts her family shows up to bring her comfort. Meanwhile DJ, who also attends the same school, is moved from her normal class that she has been in with Kimmy since school started to the advanced, or to DJ, the "egghead" class. Stephanie attempts to leave as well as DJ tries to skip out over the wall. Danny has his hands full. He talks to DJ about trying new things in life. In turn when Stephanie tries to leave it's DJ that convinces her to stop. 

 

4/4 "The Return of Grandma" October 9, 1987

When Joey neglects to inform the family about a recent phone call from Danny's mother Claire, everyone must act quickly to prepare for Grandma's unexpected visit. The house is a complete disaster area, a heroic turtle that Jesse brought home is running loose, and when Claire shows up earlier than anticipated, she is not by herself. Claire's initial instinct is that her son has not been taking proper care of the children in his wife's absence, and calls in Jesse and Joeys' own mothers to settle the issue. 

 

5/5 "Sea Cruise" October 16, 1987

Since the kids are staying with their grandmother for a few days, the guys jump at the opportunity to enjoy a responsibility-free weekend. Jesse and Joey are eager to meet up with some girls, but Danny, who is still grieving over his late wife and was really looking forward to some bonding time with his two best pals, convinces Jesse and Joey to do things his way. Everything starts out well when the trio head off to go fishing, but it all takes a sharp turn when some unexpected guests come by to join in the fun. 

 

6/6 "Daddy's Home" October 23, 1987

Danny is waiting desperately for Michelle to say Da-Da, and when she finally does, it's to Jesse and Joey! Fearing that his long work hours are negatively impacting his relationship with his children, Danny takes the girls on a string of Father/Daughter outings. Jesse, meanwhile, reluctantly agrees to give Joey some lessons on how to be cool, but the process turns out to be more strenuous that they expected. 

 

7/7 "Knock Yourself Out" October 30, 1987

Danny is excited to be commentating and interviewing The Sandman, a famous boxing champ, and if he does well, he may have a shot at being a future boxing announcer. Jesse, Joey, and the kids support him with this opportunity and eagerly tune in at home while the show is going on, but when Danny, accidentally, publicly expresses some information about The Sandman's private life, his career might suddenly be on the line. Back at home, as baby Michelle develops a nasty cough, Jesse and Joey are forced to step up and act as parents. 

 

8/8 "Jesse's Girl" November 6, 1987

With a fierce thunderstorm keeping everybody awake at night, the kids are curious to know why Jesse looks ready to attack Joey with a baseball bat. So begins a flashback story from earlier that day, when Jesse’s gorgeous guitar student ends up locking lips with Joey. Over the course of this crazy day, Joey ends up re-enacting The Wizard of Oz to entertain Stephanie, and baby Michelle become an unexpected mediator in Jesse and Joey’s latest spat. Hey, if you have to describe the Tanner family in one word, “dull” is certainly not the best choice! 

 

9/9 "The Miracle of Thanksgiving" November 20, 1987

When his first Thanksgiving without his wife Pam arrives, Danny is determined to make the day extra special for his daughters. When Grandma is unable to make it, the men are inspired to make restaurant reservations, but DJ and Stephanie encourage them to have the traditional festivities at home. The results involve a frozen turkey, a smashed pumpkin pie, and lots of tears, but the biggest challenge of all is with a certain family member who has not yet come to terms with Pam's death. 

 

10/10 "Joey's Place" December 4, 1987

Joey has always been a good sport about living in a tiny alcove in the living room, but when it is time to work on his comedy routine, the toughest part is finding a quiet spot to practice. Despite these issues, Joey's high spirits are never in short supply, but when the family seems to barely notice his absence when he goes away for the weekend, he begins to wonder if anyone even wants him around anymore. Could there perhaps be an even bigger reason behind the family's recently standoffish behavior? 

  

11/11 "The Big Three-O" December 11, 1987

As his 30th birthday approaches, Danny makes it clear to Jesse and Joey that he hates surprises and does not want a party, but what's the fun of having friends if they don't mix things up every once in a while? As Jesse, Joey, and the kids plan an extravagent bash, the guys' decision to purchase some new seat covers for Danny's beloved car ends up creating utter disaster and "Bullet" ends up dying in ruins. With Danny's special day completely ruined, will his two best pals manage to work some magic and redeem themselves?   

 

12/12 "Our Very First Promo" December 18, 1987

To boost ratings at the television station, Danny agrees to partake in a film project about his family. Everything seems to be in place when a woman named Ronnie shows up at the house for the filming, but Danny is perplexed when her methods of producing spicy television include dressing Jesse up as an English maid, having perfect French girls, replacing sweet baby Michelle with an adopted 3-year-old, and completely removing Joey from the picture. As all this is going on, Jesse and Joey try hard to locate the source of some strange animal noises in the house.

 

Note: This episode chronicologically comes before "Joey's Place". The George Lopez Show's Belita Moreno guest stars as Ronnie. 

 

13/13 "Sisterly Love" January 8, 1988

Bit by the acting bug after performing the lead role in a school play, DJ begs her father to let her audition for a cereal commercial. An unexpected turn of events causes trouble when Stephanie who accompanies DJ and Jesse to the audition catches the director's eye and lands the part. A very jealous DJ acts coldly toward Stephanie over the upcoming days, leaving Jesse and Joey with the responsibility to act as mediators. Joey attempts to give up junk food after his cholestrol tests. 

 

14/14 "Half a Love Story" January 15, 1988

At the TV station, Jesse meets Danny 's co-worker Robin Winslow, who is also an old friend of Danny 's, and Jesse uses Michelle's cuteness to get a date with Robin. When Jesse comes home later that day, Robin is also there -- then Jill, another woman Jesse used Michelle's cuteness to get a date with, shows up. This is when things become complicated, because Robin is now reluctant to date Jesse. Robin is willing to bet that Jesse has never had a relationship with a woman last any more than three or four months, because Robin has dated Jesse's type before and ended up hurt by the quick break-up every time, and she doesn't want that to happen again. 

 

15/15 "A Pox in Our House" January 29, 1988

When Stephanie catches the chicken pox, it quickly spreads to Jesse, who thought he already caught it as a child, and Joey, who previously spent his whole life believing that he is actually immune to chicken pox. With an important sportscasting gig coming up, and DJ prepared to attend her very first sleepover, Danny scrambles to find a healthy baby-sitter for Michelle. Meanwhile, as the three family patients hang around the house in misery, Stephanie and Jesse lament over the important social events that they will now have to miss. 

 

16/16 "But Seriously, Folks" February 25, 1988

As DJ works vigorously at her guitar lessons with Jesse, Joey eagerly preps for an upcoming gig at a local night club. The entire family comes out to support him, but with some talent scouts present, Joey faces public humiliation after Phyllis Diller interrupts his act, and decides that it's time to pursue something different. In the wake of this revelation, he makes an overnight decision to put on a fancy suit, change his name to Joe, and become a serious businessman. Now that he is walking around with a briefcase and calling himself a comic failure, DJ--who has been struggling with her music lessons follows Joey's lead and quits. Now that his behavior is impacting the kids he loves, will Joey be motivated to re-examine his recent choices?

17/17 "Danny's Very First Date" February 12, 1988

Danny develops an instant fondness for Linda, Stephanie's beautiful Honeybee troop leader. When she asks him on a date, the only things standing in his way are his two older daughters, who are not too happy about Danny's decision to date again. Willing to respect his children's feelings over romance, a very disappointed Danny calls the date off, but after having a little chat with Jesse and Joey, the girls confront Danny directly with the truth about their confusion and anger. Meanwhile, Jesse and Joey are trying to put together an indoor slide in the living room for baby Michelle, but how will she react to it when it is finally assembled?

 

18/18 "Just One of the Guys" March 4, 1988

When Danny's 17-year-old nephew Steve (Kirk Cameron, Candace's own brother) comes for a visit, DJ is especially excited about hanging out with him again. Unfortunately, while DJ absolutely idolizes her older cousin, she is disappointed to find that not only has he grown up a lot in recent years, but instead of ice-skating with her like the good old days, he is more interested in doing the typical guy stuff with Danny, Jesse, and Joey. It's never easy to feel left out, but as the situation worsens, will DJ be willing to go that extra mile in regaining Steve's attention?   

 

19/19 "The Seven-Month Itch, Part 1" March 11, 1988

The fact that Danny and Joey and the girls are going to Disney Land in Anaheim delights Jesse, who has been waiting to spend a romantic weekend alone with his girlfriend Samantha, but when Danny and Joey and the girls return home because the airplane couldn't take off in fog, it wrecks Jesse's plans to spend time alone with Samantha. Jesse complains that he has zero privacy in this house. This also affects Stephanie, who wants to go to Disney. On the next morning, Danny and Joey discover a note on Jesse's empty bed -- Jesse, fed up with his lack of privacy, has left to be on his own for a while, and he doesn't know when he'll be back, or if he'll be back. 

 

20/20 "The Seven-Month Itch, Part 2" March 18, 1988

Waking up to find Jesse gone is a shock for everyone, but things get even messier as Danny and Joey try their best to hide the truth from the kids. After forcing Danny to admit that Jesse is considering moving out, DJ passes the news along to her younger sisters, and since the adults claim that they can't do anything about the situation, the girls join forces to get their uncle back home where he belongs--and although Jesse is a pretty tough guy, let's just say that his little nieces are very familiar with his notorious weak spot! 

 

21/21 "Mad Money" April 29, 1988

Joey's mother Mindy has found an old $5000 savings bond in her safe deposit box, and the savings bond has Joey's name on it. When Joey receives the money, he starts spending it left and right. At the same time, Danny tries to collect an 11-year-old debt from Joey -- 11 years ago on March 12, 1977, in Palm Springs, Joey's car broke down yet again, and Danny lent Joey his last $800 to get the car fixed, and now that Joey has come into enough money, Danny asks Joey to fork over $800 of it in order to cover the debt, leading to a feud between Danny and Joey. Meanwhile, Jesse is working as an Elvis Presley impersonator in order to make some extra money because he needs enough money for he and the Rippers to record a demo, but he doesn't want the family to know that he's working as an Elvis impersonator.

 

22/22 "D.J. Tanner's Day Off" May 6, 1988

When DJ hears that her favorite singer Stacy Q will be at a local mall to give out autographs, and knowing that it would mean meeting Stacy Q in person, DJ wants an autograph, and she'll do absolutely anything, no matter what it takes, to make it happen. Problem is, the signings are scheduled to take place during school hours, so DJ decides to secretly skip a day of school to get the autograph. DJ gets Jesse to mention how he once secretly and successfully skipped a day from school, and DJ pulls that same trick on Jesse and Joey. DJ and Kimmy head to the mall and get in line to get an autograph -- but they never expected Joey and Michelle to show up, because they didn't know that Joey had made plans to get the autograph for DJ and surprise her with it after school. Then, DJ gets busted, and Jesse and Joey must decide how to punish her and avoid Danny from learning of this.
